Converge are back with a new record entitled 'Axe To Fall'. It already has a fair amount of votes and a good score on rateyourmusic, so let's hope this is as good as their 2001 masterpiece 'Jane Doe'. Hardcore/Metalcore fans should know what to do ;)

Sepultura-A_Lex-Promo-2009-QTXMp3
All of you Sepultura fans might already know enough about 'A-Lex, so I'm not gonna write much here. It should have already been released in November, but somehow it got deferred to January, couldn't understand why the label made this decision, though there was already a p2p version out. Some of you might enjoy this, even if he Cavalera brothers are missing and as it's highly anticipated, I put 'A-Lex' under the 'Must-Have' category.

Blackened-This_Means_War-2009-FNT [0day]
Blackenend's members played in several bands before, for example Hatebreed (Bassist Chris Beattie and original drummer and founding member Dave Russo) as well as The Distance and Fastbreak. Hard to find any info's, they don't even have an MA entry yet, at least there are some tracks on their MySpace.

Austrian_Death_Machine-A_Very_Brutal_Christmas-(EP)-2008-ABORTED
Re-Encoding-Nerds from Aborted gave us this brand new "EP" from Austrian Death Machine, wich never ever should have deserved an EP title, as there are just three tracks with not even 9 minutes runtime on it, it's more like a cd-single for me...

Rumors_Of_Gehenna-Ten_Hatred_Degrees-Promo-2008-QTXMp3
Hard to find any infos about this Thrashcore band called 'Rumors of Gehenna'. All I know is that they only released 1 demo so far. Their first debut called 'Ten Hatred Degrees' should be in stores by october.
Sounds listenable to me. Some nice guitar-parts, maybe think about The Haunted playing Thrashcore.. you might want to give it a try, if you like the genre.

Slipknot-All_Hope_Is_Gone_(special_edition)-2008-QTXMp3
1 week in advance comes the new hope for all Slipknot fans. I have to admit, I liked their last record, but after listening to the early Singles, I doubt that they can tie to the 'Subliminal Verses'-style with this album. Will be more like older records like 'IOWA' I guess. I'll surely give it a try later. Three bonus tracks on the special edition.

Obstacles-Decomposition_Of_Movement-2008-pLAN9
From the nfo: "Obstacles is the creative partnership between friends. The rest is sound." Not that much info and sadly, I can't find much about them, neither. At least three tracks from their record are online at myspace. Sounds not bad to me, you might want to give it a try if you like any of those Genres.

Yet unknown Metalcore band 'Dorian Gray' from Kanada released their first full-length record. Luckily UTP got their hands on a copy and released it. Core fans sure will give a try, all others
should pass this one.

Austrian_Death_Machine-Total_Brutal-(Advance)-2008-FNT
Missed to post this, it's some days older now, however, Austrian Death Machine is the new band of 'As I Lay Dying' Vocalist Tim Lambesis. It's a bit harder then 'AILD', but what really is annoying on this record are the dull nonsense trash talk skits that are present on alot of Tracks. Drab Metalcore on the rest of the record, which isn't that superior, either...
However, some Guitarsolo's have pleased me, so if you are in lust for some Metalcore or are a big 'Lay Dying' Fan, get it, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend you to do so.

Fellsilent-The_Hidden_Words-2008-KzT
"This killer six piece have played shows across the UK with the likes of SKINDRED, SIKTH, BRING ME THE HORIZON, ARCHITECTS and CULT OF LUNA, as well as full UK tours with ENTER SHIKARI, EXIT TEN and DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL, which has helped garner them further shows with the likes of TEXTURES and AKERCOCKE."
Sounds kind of interesting to me, even though I've only listened to the myspace tracks so far. Should give 'em a try if you are not averse to Metalcore.

Do_Or_Die-Pray_For_Them-2008-hXc
One of Belgiums finest Hardcore bands, Do Or Die, have released their new album entitled Pray for Them via Alveran Records. Apart from the bands hardcore roots their sound has evaluated to a mixture of Thrash Metal, Hardcore and even Metalcore by now.
Pray for Them also includes guest appearances by Roger Miret (Agnostic Front) and Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed).
Support this act, if you like this modern type of "hardcore".

Amenra-Mass_IIII-2008-hXc
Strange indeed, firts I thought hXc mislabled this, but it seems that this is really called 'Mass IIII' and not Mass IV.
Anyway, what you can expect from 'Amenra' is some fine
Doom/Sludge/Hardcore/Drone Metal .... pretty Down Tempo,
but not bad, if you like this kind of genre mix.

Terror-The_Damned_the_Shamed-Promo-2008-AMRC
Amrc gives us the new, highly anticipated record of Los Angeles own TERROR.
What we can expect from The Damned, The Shamed is quite simple:
An energetic compound of thrash metal and hardcore. This album is something like the perfect synthesis between these two genres. You'll either get fast, but yet melodic, guitar riffs, some nice break-downs and the aggressive vocals by Scott Vogel.
Terror even managed to include some guitar solos and some atmospheric interludes.
I am truly amazed by this record. The Damned, The Shamed raises the bar for any hardcore album to come in 2008.
If you like it, buy it. Good records need to be supported!!

Azriel-A_Will_Of_Fire-2008-SGV
SGV released a pretty good Metalcore record today.
I have to admit, I didn't know this band yet, but the
Tracks on Myspace sounds pretty good.
Cover artworks are also great. Good that SGV scanned
them for us :)
It's no must-have, but if you running low on new things
to hear, might want to get your hands on this one.
Streetdate was 27, march.
